For the past week or two I get multiple calls/SMSs a day from car dealerships in/around NJ trying to contact Robert (Bob) to sell him a Ford F-150

A few of them mentioned they got the lead from CarFax. I called CarFax earlier today and asked them to stop, the calls are still coming in, but I’m not sure if CarFax actually went through the effort of removing my number from their system.

I’m on the FTC’s Federal Due Not Call (DNC) list. Other than filing a complaint with the FTC that will become a statistic, is there anything realistic I can do?

Here are what some of the messages/voicemails look like:

Or tell them that they can buy the car but it comes along with the body in the trunk...

They're trying to sell a car, not buy one.

Maybe a stubbornly low offer would get them to give up
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

The issue is that it’s 20+ different dealers

Should be a setting on your phone to restrict calls to contacts only?

The best is to forward those dealers to Lenny ("Lenny" - is a collection of recorded messages, designed to fool telemarketers into thinking they are talking to a real person)

Hashem works in mysterious ways. Did you go for a test drive of the F150? Maybe you'll love the truck. Maybe this is your sign.
