If you use cinnamon for besomim on pesach it's better to have a specific bottle that is strictly for besomim and not for consumption, to avoid a safek bracha

I made a bracha on electric Shabbos candles when I was in the hospital.
I was told I could turn on any light, make a bracha, and a non-Jew could turn it off as needed.
So anyone in that circumstances should ask their Rav.

Someone needs to note the difference between incandescent and led bulbs. May as well be me.

Incandescent are considered to be fire by many poskim (they produce heat as well as light). Flourescent bulbs and leds are not.

There is no compelling reason to require “fire”. All that should be necessary is “light”.

I would need to look back at my notes on this from a shiur I gave on this to some doctors, but it is definitely not at all simple that it accomplishes hadlokas ner. The notes on this shiur are not with the rest of them where I expected it to be.

The chachamim didn’t institute the bracha.
Anyway, many times we say lo plug on the bracha when you are being mekayim the takana.
