I promised that posts will be random and out of order.
Last night שבע ברכות was hosted by the Lazars (we are related). It was meant to be a sunset river cruise, but die to Moscow traffic we arrived more than an hour late, so it was a night time cruise. Having a choice between sitting at the table with Rabbi Lazar and other family members, discussing various historical stories, versus being glued to the glass walls to be able to view the outside rather than just seeing reflection of the well lit inside, I chose the former.
The cruise left from the dock of the Radisson Collection Moscow Hotel (which looks gorgeous from the outside, and the building also houses a Rolls Royce dealership). The boat is part of the Radisson foltilla. All owned (hotel and boats) by a Caucasian Jew. (In Russian the hotel is called Hotel Ukraina).
Whatever I saw of Moscow looked like a beautiful city.
Two pictures of the hotel, first taken from the van that took us there. At that point I wasn't aware that our destination is the dock of the hotel. I took the picture for the name in Russian and the choice of flags.
The following picture was taken from inside the boat upon approaching the dock. The grandeur of the hotel is visible, along with the reflection of the inside on the glass walls. Use your imagination to figure out what it looked like when we were in darker areas with buildings not as well lit.
