The only US position that has been clear throughout is that they want as little fighting as possible. They would have loved no military retaliation after 10/7. When that wasn't possible, they pivoted to "restraint," "measured," and "targeted." Without getting into motives, they never wanted war, and now want it to end as soon as possible.

Ignore the anti-Israel guy. Listen to the interview. I have been asking this with out getting an answer. The interview makes it perfectly clear.

Don't know the accuracy, but he goes into why Israel wouldn't have a good estimate for civilian deaths.

One figure is all killed and another number is only the ones they have identifiable info doesn't make sense?
They claim 35k killed and Israel claims 30k killed. Can we still not trust their numbers?

The additional 10,000 dead need to include 15000 women and children. Yet in the same article it continues quoting that number.

Why are they way off? Women and teens, and "elderly" for that matter, can't also be fighters? Given that the median age in Gaza is 18, I'm sure 14-18 year olds are significant part of Hamas. And with 5-10k unaccounted for, assuming most of the fighters buried by airstrikes were males, the numbers even out a lot more.

The numbers for dead are not that far off.
30k from Israel
35k from whatever you want to call it.

How do you know women and children are way off? The core numbers are close.
