Even if you use the full Israeli estimate of combatants vs civilians the difference is close to 50%. If you consider the Israeli combatant estimate high then the difference between them in civilian deaths is even higher. The total civilian numbers are not at all undisputed.

The war no matter what side the admin takes is a net negative for votes.
They have been consistent from day one on civilian casualties.

The issue is the claim was the overall numbers were fake.

The claim was that the numbers were made up, and you can't trust them. That's been proven true.

Times of Israel for the last few months included some variation of this line when quoting the Gaza Health Ministry numbers:

These figures cannot be independently verified, do not differentiate between civilians and combatants and also include hundreds killed by the terror group’s own misfired rockets.
