Customer: The guy across the street sells them for .50/pound!
Store owner: So why don't you buy from him?
Customer: He doesn't have any apples
Store owner: If I didn't have any apples I could also sell them for .50/pound!
Reminds me of the comic of 3 people selling eggs - they each keep lowering the price until one buys out the other 2 at crazy low prices and then resells the entire stock higher than the original price with no competition left!
