Hey Guys,
Looking for ideas on what can be done in Aruba for 5 days. Any ideas?
Hey,
I was in Aruba in the Rio place a year ago. There is a whole lot of water sports to do on the beach almost all the hotels shear the same beach.
i think on Sundays there is a flea market in town, take the city bus its fast and a nice ride.
the hotel can recommend ATVING... it was ok , and one thing i do recommend it is the horseback riding that takes you to the natural bridge. It is one of Aruba’s highlights

Aruba is one of my favorite vacation spots to just RELAX.
Stayed three times at the Westin. They are very accommodating with Kosher food.
Also stayed at the Radisson, Marriot & Hyatt.

How were they accommodating with kosher exactly?

How did the three compare?

I would say that the order is 1. Radisson,  2. Hyatt  3.Marriott  4. westin. Most people stay at the Westin because of SPG points but it is not nearly as nice as the others. The hotel is a bit outdated and the pool is mediocre.

I would put the Hyatt as #1, otherwise I agree with BklynCPA for the order.
Like he said, reason I stayed multiple times at the Westin is because of the SPG miles (FREE!).

Regarding the kosher accommodations:

When I travel I usually deep freeze a few dozen meals, number them, and send them to the kitchen when I arrive.
I then call up meals by number & they warm it (still double sealed) and bring them up to the room with plastic cutlery.

They are extremely accommodating. I once had an issue with the cleaning crew that saw a hot plate & removed it from the room before Shabbos stating it was a fire hazard. The manager went out of his way to apologize & even offered (without asking) two free nights for the “aggravation”!

They are extremely accommodating.
+1
They didn't make me pay an extra $10 a day they usually charge for a microwave cuz I told them about kosher. I had them put me lots of meats in the freezer and brought it to me within a few minutes when I called. And of course they gave me $100 credit cuz I didn't get the room I wanted ;)

I booked a room for 14.5k(suite) for the 2nd night and the rest a regular room with C&P so if they would want to give me 3 differant rooms throughout the whole stay it would be a pain so they gave me a suite for the entire stay. The manager is exteremely nice. His name is Roy Richards

According to most review sites I have read, Radisson was considered the best hotel with Hyatt being a close second. But I guess it's a matter of opinion. They definitely have the best pool. Also, when I was there 1 1/2 years ago they were undergoing major renovations so I would imagine it is even nicer now.

I would be happy to trade SPG or Hyatt points for Radisson with anyone going to Aruba so that the cost would be the same.

Interesting. The Radisson was doing MAJOR construction when I was there, which may also be why I was a bit disappointed. But yes - both are great hotels with beautiful pools. Also, if you go during "Yeshiva Break", they have a Kosher concession. The last time I was there, they had both Meat and Dairy available.

Anyone else have thoughts on Hyatt vs. Radisson?
Also ideal stay length?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I was not in any of them but the Hyatt looks much more upscale than the radisson although even the Hyatt people said is nothing special.
I stayed there 4 days, there's no point in staying longer especially that there's no kosher restaurants which usually takes up a big part of your itinerary ;)
