If this actually happens, it could open up tons of subsidies, but it may also need some pushing at state levels.

Basically what appears to have actually happened is that pursuant to the Supreme Court ruling a federal court struck down the whole MBDA minority preference thing as unconstitutional discrimination in 2024. MBDA then revamped the rules effective January 15, 2025 so that any applicant from any race can claim they are a disadvantaged minority without proof and receive assistance. Basically even any WASP can just put down that they “feel” disadvantaged (reverse discrimination should certainly work) and presto, they qualify. This way the SBA and MBDA are in compliance with the court ruling.
Now that everything has changed, MBDA can call Hasidim a disadvantaged minority (before they were an “economically disadvantaged group” ) with no skin off their backs because there is no practical import in terms of MBDA eligibility. There is no preference given to an African American who checks off disadvantaged minority or a white redneck who checks off the same; neither is vetted and both are eligible. It does not appear that this will actually open any dubdidies or programs specifically to Jews or Hasidic Jews and least not directly. More like a massive PR kind of thing than anything else at this point as far as I can tell.
