How can i get alerts on google maps for cameras etc like on waze ? now i only get a little beep

You have to be in navigation mode. Once navigating, tap where the arrow is pointing at the top right, and then select the type of alert you want.

Afaik That just limits it to those alerts. I think he wants it to announce it.

I just got back from a trip to EY and although I am a big fan of Apple maps I switched to Waze pretty quickly because Apple Maps is not quite as amazing in EY as it is in America.

1. Apple maps is much harder to search for your destination as everything is in English.
2. It's English redout was annoying and I couldn't find a way to switch it to Hebrew.
3. It gave bad routes at times.
4. It gave instructions to do illegal turns a few times.
5. It had me turn into bus lanes a few times.

I thought it was well written. I use both apps exactly the way that he describes their strengths - Apple for navigation, Google for information.

One unrelated thing I’ve really been enjoying about Apple is the Apple Watch integration- there’s no less annoying method of getting directions than a little tap on the wrist.  With other apps I toggle sound on and off and occasionally miss the turn.

Again, it's the way it's using comparative metrics (which IMHO aren't good ones) to stack them up against each other. The points may be valid.
