Never used Apple Maps but lately Waze is very bad for me. I don’t follow their instructions and I cut down on almost every trip. Will definitely try out apple.

I'm not using Waze for years now, used only Google maps.
I'll try Appke maps as well for the next week or so, let's see how it is

Google maps. I like the integrated street view and information about all stores/locations.
Don't have an iPhone to test apple maps.

I do find Google maps annoying at times. It gives weird routes at times. I only can tell this when it's someplace local and I know the streets and know the route given is stupid.

I wish there was a way to whitelist/blacklist a road. Now I just usually make an extra stop to force it to go with the road I want. Annoying.

I've tested two phones at the same time going to the same place and it gave different routes. Preference settings (I think) were the same.

Used to be with Waze for a decade until I realized how garabge it is. Moved over to google maps and recently heard that Apple Maps was good and started using it a bit, but didn’t realize it was this good.

I use Waze for the camera warnings, but have noted a bunch of times it was not giving the best directions. Just yesterday, I missed a step by mistake causing me to use a different route and the ETA moved 8 minutes later, but then very quickly went back to the original ETA. Then I got stuck in traffic, as predicted, and on a whim took a side street instead of staying in the traffic, and my ETA moved 5 minutes earlier (and then dropped by another couple of minutes as I was going).

I had Waze tell me to take the Bayonne Bridge into SI and back into NJ on the Goethals to get from Jersey City to Lakewood.

I use both... Although I usually follow Google Maps. I find that Waze many times won't give you another option. I had many times that  after ignoring them and going the other way the time went down.

I use Waze.
The best part of Waze is, that you can report (see reported) police, road closures, construction etc.
If the other maps would integrate that part, even if it would be optional, I might switch over.

How I use them

Google maps: finding info on a store/company, like phone numbers, website link, hours of operation, etc. (currently using for navigation, but switching to AM to try it out)

Waze: running in the background with sound on for warnings only, so I get the police warnings.
Using Waze for directions is the worst decision (especially if you're in a rush!)

Apple maps: will test it to see how good it really is.

No. Not yet I should say.

Is it actually "next level"?

I would rate them just like that. I  have been raving about Apple maps for a while and everybody was just making fun that I preferred it over Waze. for longer drives ill usually use Waze as well in the background on alerts only for cops.

My  prizes from CV :)

I have a link for an address that when clicked, opens in google maps.
I don’t have google maps installed, is a way to get the links to open into Apple Maps (or Waze)?

Should open to Apple Maps automatically on Apple devices.

I assume OP is talking about a link like this one, which probably only opens in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/h4WwStWRmeFMGTGE6?g_st=ic

Can’t you copy/paste it into a browser either on your phone or computer, and then c/p the actual address?
