Good news for New Yorkers between 200% and 250% FPL (which is also usually updated around this time of year)
On March 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and U.S. Department of Treasury approved New York's Section 1332 State Innovation Waiver application to expand the Essential Plan. As a result of this waiver, starting April 1, 2024, a new variation of Essential Plan will be in place for consumers with income above 200% but less than or equal to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.
