Walking back to hotel at night in Paris on leil shabbat
« on: June 05, 2024, 03:45:24 AM »
My wife and I will be visiting Paris in July.  We will be staying at the Sofitel Hotel  Arc de Triomphe, which is near Chabad Champs Elysees.   I am thinking about attending kabbalat shabbat at the Grande Synagogue, and staying for dinner.  It would be a 40 min walk back to the hotel, late at night, along Rue Saint Lazeres and Haussmann Blvd.  Keeping in mind that we will not be able to have any cell phones or, even, any ID, given the lack of an eruv, how safe is it to be traveling that distance at that time?   Going to Chabad for leil shabbat, of course, is another option, but we will be there, anyway, for davening in the morning and shabbat lunch, and it would be nice to experience the other shul on leil shabbat.
