I would say Scranton is a great place to base yourself. Tons to do around there
Rochester too.
I was actually looking into these for this summer, any good recommendations? Either places to stay or activities

Should we include the WiFi speeds?

Sorry🤦‍♂️
Is this a thread of places to go to or places to avoid?
;)
I hear ya, but I'm sure there are many who specifically enjoy these types of places.. yes, maybe those types don't hang out on DDF, but in case there are others who bumped into such yeshivish/chassidish hotspots, please share!

Same difference. Most people go, which is why some people avoid.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot downtown in Rochester. It's new and nice, big clean rooms. Each room has a mini fridge and microwave. It's about 7 minutes from the shuls.

In Scranton we stayed at the Residence Inn. A little dated but having a separate living space and 2 bedrooms was nice. It's about 15 minutes from the shuls.

Went last year to the Poconos. Don’t have time for a TR but here is some info.
Jewish Resource Center of Poconos in East Stroudsburg has seasonal minyanim poconojrc.org
In the area there are a bunch of family friendly attractions. Pocono Tree Ventures, Blue Lightning Tubing-all year tubing, Bushkill Falls, Pocono Go-Karts and Play Park, Edge of the Woods Outfitters- Delaware rafting, Camelback Mountain Adventures, Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park. I can pull up if needed

Arent all the attractions mapped out on the chol hamoed Google map?

What would be useful is hotel/minyan & food (restaurants or stores with kosher food).

Link?
