Is that anecdote or statistics?
Anecdotal, but a lot of them. At least in the Tri state area Jewish communities. That's all part of the discussion here. Would love to see more people's experiences and studies/articles they have seen discussing this.
I’d say there’s still seasonality until I see data otherwise.
In my anecdotal opinion, COVID, lockdowns, and if you’re a conspiracy theorist then vaccines too seem to have weakened people’s immune systems, but I have no data to confirm it.
Lockdowns shouldn't be affecting any of this 3 years later. Vaccines wouldn't have affected those who didn't take it, although its spread would increase because of those who did take it (though never saw any real data on vaccines weakening the immune system past the first few days post shot. The whole point is to stimulate the immune system to generate a response to this pathogen).
Covid affecting the immune system and making us more susceptible to viruses is a theory, but would love to see data or some more analysis. The whole seasonality of viruses is also not fully understood yet and there is only theories why that was the case prior to Covid. I guess this Covid angle would only jive with the seasonality theory that says our immune system is stronger in the summer because of more outdoors exercise, etc. and now it is not strong enough for many people therefore people are getting sick more often, including in the summer.
