If the official iaa.gov.il site is accurate, then it's still only Hertz. Is this a reason to stick only to Hertz?

IMO yes, it makes a world of a difference to be able to return the car in terminal.

So I get to the Hertz rental in the airport after reserving online for 7 days which was supposed to be $200 total with fees. The lady at the counter says you need to pay extra $29 a day mandatory insurance. If you get a letter from the CC company that they cover something or other than its only $16 extra a day. Any thing I can do ? The other rental counters said they all do the same thing. What can be done ? Is this for real ?

they are correct that you must buy liability insurance which is in that range how did you book this car rental

you are required to have cdw and ldw your credit card covers the cdw therefore you must buy ldw from the car rental agency
