rental car in Israel
« on: December 06, 2009, 11:37:52 PM »

Anyone know of a way to rent a car in Israel really cheap?? I need a car 12/31/09 till 1/11/10
So far the cheapest i was able to get is $267.00 but thats for a really small car (Hyundai Getz) I've had that in the past and wasn't able to fit 3 suitcases in to the car.
If anyone has something i really would appreciate a shout out there. thanx

time of p/u and time of drop off (p/u @ 10am and drop-off @ 9pm means having to pay for an extra day) forgot to include this in the post above

A special thanks to steve2 for all your advice.

I ended up booking from http://www.ddtravel-acc.com/carent.htm for $24/day. got it for a week for total of $168 (including CDW & TP). They are some sort of agent that reserve for you from Budget, but provide a much better rate than Budget directly offers.

This was the cheapest i found. (Cheaper than yerent.com, Avis, www.sixt.com & budget)

You're renting a Punto?
Also even though my World Mastercard covered the CDW/TP Budget still forced me to take out Liability at about $14/day.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I reserved for the cheapest car (Fiat Punto) but when i went to pick it up they upgraded me to a ford focus, as that was the only car available. I wasn't happy with the steering or acceleration so a few days later i went to another branch and they swapped it for a Suzuki Liana (much better than the ford focus).
