I had the same sentiments. Trump was not too thrilled it seemed. On a personality level the 2 of them should hate each other, both are bombastic enough to not stand down an argument. One uses super goofiness to do it while one gets super angry.

I also think Trump realizes, or people have drilled into him, that the Rs finally have their own George Soros, albeit like 100x richer, and he can't destroy that relationship. There's a solid chance we look back in 20 years and Trump's biggest legacy is turning Elon into the most influential political kingmaker in US history.

it’s curious if you try to think about it, what exactly is Trump interested in musk? I don’t think it’s his money, I think he likes the way he operates, he’s a doer. Anyone can hire a few guys and use ai to start rooting thru gov agencies, but the way musk does it with a sense of urgency is what Trump likes.
What do you see musk doing beyond doge? I feel he’ll be happy to go back to his quiet trillionaire life once doge is finished
