Yup they have a great price for the regular pixel 9, if you want the pro or another option 30% will do you better.

T-Mobile is currently offering the Pixel 9 for free (only pay taxes) with trade in with even slightly older phones like my Pixel 6. It's available in app and they're also waiving the $35 activation fee.

I wanted the 256gb one but it's out of stock. If you had a Pixel 6, would you trade it in to get the pixel 9? Specs look only marginally better and I would be locked in to T-Mobile for 2 years (which I guess I'm not totally opposed to).

I was not in the market for a new phone. But I figured that this would at least extend my resale value a few years, so I got the pixel 9. My trade-in would have been $45 for my pixel 6, and with this promotion, it's worth $800. Only paid $48 in taxes.

This only makes sense if you’re locked into an older or promotionless plan, because the Pixels seem to have lower resale value than iPhones/Galaxy S e.g. 2 years after release.

Pixel 6 to 9 is definitely a net gain, just considering the fact that you’re locked in for two years and the opportunity cost of not going with a better trade in offer (assuming there was/will be one).
