I have some lines where I can definitely do this, but I don’t have trade in devices lined up. At $100 to buy a device, then taxes, for a device I won’t have use for, it doesn’t feel worth it. I can’t sell it as unlocked/unencumbered until it’s paid off in 2 years, at which point it’ll be worth $300.

Can get a used device for under 100, hopefully you can sell it for 400-500 for someone with T-Mobile, if not keep it as a spare. My total would be under 150 it's a no brainer.

If I knew I could sell it for $500 (after costs) I’d be in, not so sure I’ll get $500 though.

Ya the value retention just isn't there.

It's amazing that I've had this phone collection for years and phones are still getting 800 off with trade ins..

The carriers just want to lock you in for another 2 years (or they’ll get paid for what’s owed on the device). The trade in is icing on the cake, many upgrades trade in a phone that’s a few years old that’s worth more than $100 to the carrier.

Regarding pixel 9 pro, coming from a Samsung phone. For some reason I'm still getting used to the typing. And voice to text is way too good,.
I'm trying to still figure out how to use it properly without it giving extra punctuation.
