Chase travel vs Delta
« on: August 22, 2024, 03:10:34 PM »
I want to book a flight JFK-TLV for December on Delta. Being that there is a good chance that it gets canceled I want to be prepared to get rebooked on elal if needed. Does booking it on Chase travel make it any harder to get Delta to rebook me on elal if it does indeed get canceled? I want to take advantage of the 5X UR points on Chase travel spend but not if it makes it any harder to get rebooked. Not worth the extra 6000 points if it effects it in any way.

Why not just book El Al to begin with?

price?
If Delta doesn't cancel the flight in December I'll be happy to fly on it for about 2/3 the price of an elal flight

Hi. I recently booked through chase travel a delta JFK-TLV flight and delta canceled it and I called DELTA and they changed me onto ELAL no problem.

Had two tickets supposed to travel Oct. 30, was cancelled. Delta said I need to call Chase, but when I called Chase they rebooked me on the Elal flight no problem. Hatzlacha!

Let's say everyone is getting booked now on elal through chase.  To me, 6000 points isn't worth the chance something could change, and under such a volatile environment, I'd rather be booked with the carrier.

true, I'm introducing a little more risk to an already risky situation for 6000 points. I feel like I'm just ingrained to maximize my points and get the best "deal."
