I bought a 256GB around a half a year ago. It was also $19.99.

I happened to have wanted the 512GB, but they didn't have it yet. And yes, obviously buy 2X 256GB VS 1 512GB.

I own two of these, which I got for the metal build, not speed.

I did happen to notice, that the speed stayed at around 115 mb/s, each time I transferred files. Why would that be? Device I'm using is slow? Depends on what your transferring?

Could be the file type, could be the ports themselves (not likely), could be the source drive. Also writing is slower than reading. I have gotten 385MBps reading off the these but it doesn't happen often.
