He's wrong about Apple Care. That's not part of the original manufacturer warranty.

I don't think there are any electronics that carry more than a 1 year warranty, but CMIIW.

I think LG is currently offering 2 year on some of their new devices.

ZTE shipped a unheard of 2 year warranty on their top tier Axon phones, with free advance exchange Shipping, even covering Accidental damage for a $80 deductable.

Shame that they couldn't keep themselves from lying to the US Govt... Twice.
We'll see if they ever get back in to the high end smartphone game in the US, and if anyone will trust them.

HTC used to have Uh Oh protection for accidental drops and water damage with deductible, but that ended with the U11, and they're basically out of the smartphone market these days. What a shame.

And it was pretty much useless because I dropped my naked HTC phones multiple times and nothing ever cracked.

I actually did have to use it, but I did get preferential treatment due to my being an external tester for them. They even did it for my spouse's U11 after they stopped the Uh Oh protection without charging me for it.

how serious is amex with comparing manufacturers warranty? i have a $1500 claim but im not sure if the original manufacturer would cover it... seems like a confusing area.  Thanks

Bump. Amex is now asking for a repair estimate.  Only way to get an estimate is if i ship the bike and pay for disassembly. Will cost min. $350 to get a quote.  Will amex force me to do this? Or any ideas how to get away with it?

i got an estimate of $600 for repair of $1400 item. will amex give reimbursement of repair or full item?

Amex recently updated the T&C to provide up to an additional 2 years coverage.
Any idea if this is even on purchases made prior to the change?
Claim rep said it only on future purchases but language says nothing about that.
I’m about 3.5 years out of an item that has a 2 year warranty. I previously wasn’t eligible but with this change I may be.

Got something with a 6 month warranty it  broke after 6 months filed a extended warranty claim was denied the adjuster said he called the store they have said that they have a one-year warranty but the store refused to fix it for me saying the only have A 6 month warranty anything I can do?

Call them both back. Get it in writing from the store. Get the name of the person you speak to.
Call back amex and tell them what happened. It should be a pretty clear policy one way or another.

Has anyone purchased their silk kapote with Amex and wore it often enough that it got worn out within 2 years and claimed this benefit and got their money back?

Would the extended warranty work for a laptop that got extremely slow? It's kind of a hard thing to prove or diagnose...
