Well why they approve the claim then?

They don't do a whole investigation every time you submit a claim. They kinda trust you. But there's always the chance that it could get scrutinized later on. Seems like even though you got the error message, the claim still went through.

will amex shut me down or give me a f/r for using return protection to often and not spending great amounts on the card ?

They'll simply begin denying your claims.

You're an unprofitable customer. Return protection is not meant to be abused.

On the invoice it says paid with Amex, but I can't find the charge in my statements or online.

The likelihood of not being charged is extremely small.

should be the same, because they are both under a third party. you call a different number that insures for Amex, same plan for all insured cards

Their limits might be different.  I think the platinum is higher.

And Sapphire Preferred, Barclay Arrival Plus. The only fee free cards I have are Freedom, Blue Sky, and Discover IT. Do any of them have good warranties?

Doesn't matter if you have other cards. If you close the card there's no warranty. They recently changed the rules (I learnt the hard way)
