Explaining Eruv to Gentile neighbors
« on: September 22, 2024, 09:56:21 AM »
Hi.

Has anyone dealt with building an eruv that requires the permission and use of a non Jews property? How did you go about it ? Etc..
I believe there’s a handbook that is available that explains it well but can’t seem to find it.
Tia

Probably not the easy answer you’re looking for, but our community just extended the eruv (parts of the nearby boardwalk) and we had our assemblywoman work on this amazingly, getting permits from pretty serious institutions (dep of national parks state permits etc)
Not sure how simple your extension is but either you’d approach the various home owners themselves so you don’t make a scene, or work with you local gov officials
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

Indeed... it took decades (and a tough relection campaign) to get this done!

Explain as a "loophole" and they will understand.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

You mean a loop around a hole.
