Thank You Card Flights Points
« on: February 03, 2012, 04:14:43 PM »
Does anyone know how Citi Thank You Card works for its point per mile flown benefit?  Do you have to have purchased the flight with the card? If so let's say I use miles for the flight but I pay the taxes with the card would that still work? Either way it sounds like a nice way to get a whole bunch of points per dollar spent unless their is a limitation I don't know of. Thanks

Generally speaking, you need to use the card to purchase the flight. There seems to be a threshold ($50?) for taxes that you must pass before the system gets confused and thinks you are purchasing a flight.

Charging extra fees (luggage) does not, in most cases, confuse the system; perhaps the coding is different.

And you are not going to get more than 1 flight point matched per dollar spent.
