Just got a check of $10.50 in the mail, with a letter attached:

Dear Side Incomer,

We are issuing the enclosed check as reimbursement for Membership Rewards points, which after a recent review of our records, we determined were inadvertently deducted from your rewards account prior to your card cancelation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused.

if you have any questions regarding this payment, please call 1-877-251-1456

I have no idea what this is, I called in and the agent says they have no access to the info, but took down my tell, and told me that a supervisor will call back.

Anybody had this?

I got this for a Delta Skymiles Amex but no idea what it's for either.

My guess is that it's for the points earned that were in pending mode at the time of account closure.

Thats not my case, all my pending points were made available to use at the time of the account closure.

i got it for a dollar and change seems to be from when i closed a spg business
looked at the account and they had deducted 123 points or s/t like that.

Got the same, If they are considering each point as being worth one cent, what do you think your chances are of getting 2.5 cents since that is what they sell MR points for.

I got the same, check for $5.90.

I recently got shafted for 13k+ MR when I closed one o my accounts due to FR, I hope they don't send me a check at 1cpm. Regardless, I'm writing to their correspondence unit to resolve that issue.

you can transfer points out while under fr... why didn't you?

They didn't post to my account, how could I use them?

(regardless, the discussion is moot because I already advanced points and was trying to zero out a negative balance, all I'm saying is that the spend points never posted because I cancelled the account).

Got a check for $100 today. I don't remember ever closing an account with points in it. But Amex says so.....

I don't know why, since I got all the miles I was supposed to for opening card and reaching spend.
Maybe I should call them and tell them they made a mistake
