spg gold
« on: February 05, 2012, 01:32:36 PM »
I have an spg gold [from amex plat] while my wife has a large amount of spg points, but she is spg preferred not gold,
would we be able to get the upgrades from my gold, and then pay with points from her spg card although its two different accounts? or I can only pay with points from the card who's name was used to make the reservation [in my case my gold card] ?

You can merge the two accounts.

You can merge the two accounts.

Not exactly. You can transfer points between people living at the same address and then book from your account
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Anyone with recent experience being status matched, or some other form of receiving SPG Gold? My Plat-caused Gold expired after I booked some upcoming nights at the Dead Sea, and I canceled my Plat back in January.

Alternatively, if I flash the rep at the Dead Sea my Gold card, will they take the time to check the expiration date on it?

As long as you put your name on the reservation as well, you can call the hotel once you've made the reservation, and let them know you're Gold and will be in the room as well.  You can actually just call the hotel once you've made the resv, and add your name (and Gold #) directly with the hotel.

The benefits are 4pm late checkout, 50% bonus points, and free wifi or 250 bonus Starpoints even on award stays.  Expect nothing more and you shan't be disappointed.

Yes.

How new? I recently stayed one night and didn't get free wifi nor 250 starpoints.  Although,  I must say, 4pm checkout was great!

Its just too bad that you always checked out a couple hours earlier than you needed to.

Unless you checked out at 4pm and thought that that's standard  :o
