AA Lounge at JFK
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:08:49 PM »
Has anyone been to the first class lounge in JFk for AA? Is there one? Is it nice? Have the AMEX Platinum so I think that means I can get in but is there anything great about it?

Thanks

Do you mean the admirals club?
If so, yes.
It is very big, has a play area for kids, quite nice. However, I believe there are two. I'm only speaking about one.
Also, there is a flagship lounge. Platinum does not grant you access to that.

At LGA, Admirals Club doesn't give wifi to Amex Plat entries...so don't be surprised but YMMV

+1.
Before they renovated the lounge the wifi was only for admirals club members and not plats/ppass.
IME since it's been newly renovated I have not had an issue.

Been to flagship in jfk and was nice. Never got kosher food there but there's plenty of non-kosher food.

I do not know which one I mean... I have never been to either. I am flying from JFk to MIA and will be there for a few hours very early in the morning... I was hoping to find a place the wife and I can relax for a few hours in a little more comfort...

I was in the AC at JFK not long ago. If your flight leaves from the gates requiring you to go under the tarmac, then do that and then take the elevators up to the AC there. It is quite large, as described above, and there are plenty of places to sit and relax. My flight was delayed when I was there and I just sat near a window and enjoyed some planespotting.

Got it in ORD back in September.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

A few weeks ago I got into this lounge with the AMEX PLAT and the woman receptionist said as she was swipping my card "It seems like everyone has this card lately" ;D ;D ;D

At the AC in JFK are there computers also to use, or just WiFi?
Also is there a bar? Free or not?

Also, is it straightforward about an amex plat cardholder being allowed to bring in 2 guests?
has a/o ever encountered difficulties?

Straightforward. T&C of amex plat membership.
