Ok apologies for any hurt feelings. I didn't realize that this was a group of non chabbad. I didn't even know that there are non chabadskers living in CH...
Interesting that no one commented about the audacity of mentioning the Rebbe in the one paragraph with the founder of Lakewood.
In any event, I don't know how those promoting an eiruv in Crown Heights self-identify, however the one thing that seems to be clear is that there is not one מורה הוראה who is local to Crown Heights that endorses or approves of a community wide (לאפוקי localized, such as Malbone Street) eiruv.
Putting up an eiruv is the responsibility of local Rabbonim, a proper eiruv is initiated by a Rov who cares about increasing שמירת שבת in his community. As far as I know, whatever was done in Crown Heights was not initiated by a Rov, but rather by people who are trying to set their own tone and live their own lifestyle in Crown Heights, but will go venue shopping for התרים of whatever they want to do.
IMNSHO 99.9% of the opposition to the eiruv was done in a misguided (or outright foolish) manner.
The genie is out of the box right now (Lamplighters, Laurie), it is very hard (though not impossible) to put it back in.
