Why? What percentage of the yearly budget deficit has doge cut? If he's cut 1 billion dollars thats like half a percent of last years deficit!
When he gets to 6 billion in cuts - that's one percent of a budget that's llike 30 percent in the hole.

ETA: Seems like I read it wrong. This number is just for the past 12 months. Looks like this division got $135.32M since 2008, and other parts of the company got around $50m in that time.

So roughly 2mil a year? For a company that makes 1 billion plus?

This seems much too low considering the services they provide.

not sure if I misunderstand your question, but lexisnexis is not a security or verification system company. They just sell subscriptions for ppl to access their huge library of data and analytic tools to understand the data. He’s essentially a librarian for a big virtual library

They do a lot more then this, they collect info on individuals (kind of like a credit bureau) to sell to insurance agencies, among other things. That's how Geico knows how many tickets and accidents you were in (ch"v)

According to usdebtclock.org, they're at $94b cut, however I can't speak for how accurate it is. FWIW, Elon mentioned a couple weeks ago that they were hitting $4b per day in cuts and ramping it up. Any way you slice it, its vastly higher than your total estimate of $1b. They're doing an amazing job.

This is definitely true, but this viewpoint is a little too optimistic. Who is going to make sure the good remains? Musk? That's not even on his radar. I don't have confidence that this administration is going to be focused on fixing on what breaks as a result of DOGE.

Trimming fat will always hurt a bit in the short term, and that's why historically it never happens. Musk isn't the one deciding to shut any agencies, it's Trump. There will be complaints if anything useful is cut, and in those cases liberals and moderates will react pretty loudly. Even USAID with all the fraud, waste, and self-dealing was not shut fully, they kept on certain pieces they considered useful.

You'll be surprised how many dead people are collecting SS.
I personally know from family.
The kids called in multiple times that the person is deceased, and benefits are still flowing in.
