Trip delay/cancellation question

Virgin Atlantic cancelled my flight from Seattle to LHR, and I was rebooked on a flight the next day. Because of this, I had to rebook my connecting flight from LHR with British Airways (on a separate reservation) and book a hotel for the night. Virgin Atlantic is refusing to cover these additional expenses. Will Chase reserve cover these costs under my travel insurance, even though the reservations were separate?
