None do. In fact I have not heard of anyone (in recent times) that successfully bought a GC at a hotel.

A better question is, if he opened at least 24 Amex Bus Plat cards (along with only-G-d-knows-how-many Chase Ink cards!) last year, how did he manage to pull off at least $480K of spend on them?

You need to keep them open minimum 1 year. After that you can close or if they give you a good retention you can decide if it's worth keeping open.
