Chase freedom or Saphire?
« on: February 07, 2012, 10:06:45 AM »
Hi! I only have one credit card and was wondering what the forum thinks about the Chase Freedom vs. the Saphire card? I have a Chase checking account, and don't make all my purchases via credit card. I will probably average $200/month. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Why not apply for both?

The Sapphire PREFERRED will transfer to airline and hotel programs and has a bigger sign up bonus.

Sounds good! Thanks! One problem - I only have one credit card (which I am always on time with payments) so I do not have much credit, and do not want to ruin my credit score. Will applying for both do me any harm?

How long have you had a credit card for? Do you know your credit score?
Is your bank account with Chase by any chance?

I had the credit card for just under a year, and never checked my credit score yet. I am young and new to these things(as you can tell ;))! I do have a Chase checking account.

If you have good income you should be able to convince Chase to extend you more credit. What is your current CL?

Credit Line.

I think you PM'd me recently insinuating you had the answer to that question, so why are you asking here?

$2500.00

Tricky, especially since the SP requires a $5k CL.

If you're okay with selling you can prob get around 500 for the 30,000 points

I am not big on selling. I was just wondering if anyone was aware of a 500 offer. You know me; I must have my offers mixed up.  :)
