Citi Hilton Online Account Issue

I didn't think this warranted its own thread so I'll put it here.

I just got 2 Citi Hilton cards. When I try adding them to my online profile (which currently contains 2 AA cards) it gives me an error message of

"The account number you've entered can't be linked to this Account Online User ID at this time. Please register this account using a separate User ID. To do this, you'll need to sign off, return to the home page and select Register."

I've been getting this message for 3 days now. Anyone else ever get this and know how to get around it?

You have to call and activate the card!

  You can not comingle the Citi Hilton cards with the AA/ TYP  cards  . You have to create a new user ID for the HH cards with a different name. Via phone or by yourself . You can use the same password

 IMO its a bit of a Pita but when asking for GW it works well as a supervisor asked me if I wanted TYP or HH points. I asked for and got both   :)

Confirmed by Citi now as well:

Your Hilton Honors card must be registered at www.hhonorscard.accountonline.com. It cannot be linked to your Citi card profile.

I plan on using the 2 cards only until I meet spend now, and then whenever I stay at a Hilton. But I know that I'll end up forgetting about the AF or something like that.
