I have the classic 76 for many years. It's still going strong. (4 boys). I bought expensive metal attachments to have different size haircuts.   But more recently found a plastic set that does the same job for a lot less.
So you recommend the $123 over the $53? Do you know the difference?

BTW, I got the one from Costco and returned it...it was excellent for pulling out hairs, but if you want something that will cut, you should pick something else.

I don't know the difference.  I paid about $100 for the Oster Classic 76, more than 10 years ago.
After several haircuts a year ( maybe 10 at this point) it still works just about like new.

The other osters do not even compare to the 76. It is just so much more powerful. I would not recommend the interchangeable blades and I just use these guides (not necessarily the sizes)  which you can easily change while the machine is running. Changing the blade wears out the machine.

You didn't read what he wrote. He said "haircut machine." A clippers cuts hair but you have to have a person move it around on your head. A haircut machine is completely automated.

I assume so. He wrote "any recommendations for a good haircut machine?" not "is there such a thing as a haircut machine?"

How in the world could he mean clippers? Even if he didn't know the English word for clippers, he could have looked at the TITLE of the thread and been reminded (or learned) the word. Plus, if he meant clippers, why would he post such a general question as "can anyone recommend clippers?" on the third page of a thread that discusses different clippers in detail? Do you think he's a fool?

No, I must conclude that when he said he wants recommendations for a "haircut machine" we must take him at his word. He is talking about something called a haircut machine, not clippers.
