Paying online beforehand costs $15, at the airport it's $20 (If they charge at all). So I'd just get to the airport and hope they won't charge

If you have no luggage and check-in online and go to W, you are almost guaranteed not to be charged for handbag. AYLOR

Just go check the handbag and be sure

It's probably worth $15 to not have to deal with checked baggage

Interesting opinion, I try to check my handbags so as not to have to deal with bringing them onto the plane.
(Don't forget, this is a JFK-TLV flight)

I do take some kind of bag for my essential items (talis and tefilin, a few sforim, food and a change of clothing for in case my luggage doesn't arrive) , and as I've probably wrote in other threads, I try not to eat plane food.
My point was to check in the the bulky pieces, so that you don't have issues during boarding, and that I shouldn't have a problem being the last one to board (it makes the flight 30 minutes shorter)
I'm specifically referring to the TLV route.

Flying Arkia from US today Trying calling the phone tells me they’re not open. Tried WhatsApp, and it just gives me same question repeatedly about if I want to make or cancel a booking. Doesn’t address my question. Any advice here?

was suppsoed to fly arkia TLV-JFK 11:40 this morning. Got delayed to 5:30pm then later was delayed to 11:30pm. Lets see what happens...
Am i eligible for compensation?

Either way after all the delays, we took off at 12:30AM.
Over all good experince. Flight was about half full, i sat in the fron which was more empty than the back. Orriginally had the 2 seats by the window, but the 4 next to me were empy so my wife moved over and we got the 2 and the 4. The economy lie flat...
There were 3 Arkia flight attendents and a bunch from Iberojet, very nice staff.
There was mehadrin meals if you asked them for it. Just be carefull as the NON SKML had a good mehadrin hechsher just not double wrapped.

when i did it with united i simply sent an email pursuant to israeli law blah blah blah and they sent it. Not sure how it will go with arkia tho
