There's no halachic basis for any of this talk - all some strange hergesh. And now we're celebrating that she's going to be released 5 days after we expected her to be released, as long as it's not on shabbos. Weird

You think they won't be writing about her and publishing her picture on shabbos? And they won't be taking pictures of the other released hostages on shabbos? Practically speaking, nothing changed on the chillul shabbos front.
it’s more about kiddush shabbos. Someone who cares about shabbos rather stay a few days more and now a whole country of millions of yiddin know about it. seems like a beautiful thing to me.
