Just because the global policeman allows Israel to violate it isn't a reason to establish a precedent that Israel doesn't keep deals. תפסת מרובה לא תפסת, we can take the 3 they are willing to give us and resume the war in a few weeks. אין ספק מוציא מידי ודאי. Or why look at the past, Israel is insisting on keeping the ceasefire in Lebanon, even as it's being broken right left and center by Hezbollah.

80 years of a miraculous state that continues to live on and prosper despite being surrounded by vicious enemies who outnumber us more than 100:1.

Yup, it's proven. Time and again the same play book. Pretend there are no violations by the other party, until the continued violations get too big to ignore, then go in full force, pull back just before winning, make a new deal. Ignore the continued violations. Etc.

Hezbollah's attacks were ignored for all the years they were violating the deal which was supposed to keep them behind the Litani. Same for the violations of the current deal, for the last month.

In every round with Hamas, Israel keeps the deals they sign, until Hamas breaks them. and usually past that as well. It was true in Protective Edge (all 10 of them ). And it's true today.

Their insistence on keeping delas has only bought them Hamas' trust. Hamas knows they are free to act as long the deal is in force, Israel will never break it. And then Hamas can break it whenever they want.

I'm not arguing one way or the other on the plans for this shabbos.
But I am laughing and crying at the twin assertions that Israel should worry about breaking its word to its most damaging foe, and that it's continued existence is due (from a natural point of view, after accepting the inherent miracle) to the agreements it signs with its enemies.

I guess that proves every Israeli government decision to be correct. And the thousands dead in the many rounds with Hamas proves nothing.

The problem with this view is that it bakes in the lives lost in terror and war as just an unavoidable cost of existence. I'm not ok with a country which acheives prosperity by continously trading the blood of tens of thousands of its citizens.

Have you no feelings for thousands who died? for the tens of thousands of wounded?! just from this round alone! and how about from all the previous rounds?

To say Israel knows what it's doing and is been doing a good job for the past 80 years...

So for a Jew to come and say "Israel's strategy is proven" just because "the country lives on and prospers" does NOT mean it's "working".

I think you should study well the Rebbe's talks about Shelamius Ha'aretz, to learn the Rebbe's strategies.
