Don't claim/blame your religion for the success/failure of your relationship with your spouse. It's your effort and care, or lack thereof, that creates the result.

No, but anyone that feels the need to go to the press is.  Next we'll see another "scandalous rejection" book I'm sure.
Should I go to the press that I sneezed today?
I do wonder why these communities put pressure on abused women not to report it though.
LOL! You could but I don't think anyone would care.  ;)

I think a lot of it comes from now wanting to embarrass the abuser and their family. Or worse, having charges brought against them.
I think this is much more common than people realize in all sects of religious orthodox worlds.

When it comes to “arranged marriages” I will blame the Religion/culture/tradition!

How much higher would that divorce rate be if it wasnt so difficult to end a marriage here.  Its really not an option unless you want to throw away your relationships with your entire neighborhood.

I agree the divorce rate will always be lower in religious circles because it is encouraged to really work through the issues and divorce is a last resort (which it isnt in many non religious relationships) but the numbers are very misleading and in recent times they are changing rapidly.  I know that it is an issue many of the Hassidic sects are dealing with.  Some of the Chasidic groups have a great system in place that helps marriages last and I think professionals in the non Chasidic jewish world are actually taking lessons from them.  But it is still an issue.

Everything, and everywhere there are issues.

Yes, if you know that divorce is frowned upon, you take matters more seriously to begin with.

The reasons that today even by them the divorce rate is rising, is the modernization + the easy access to outsiders via text and internet, as well as the generally accepted tendency of people being very spoiled, knowing everything better, and not being ready to accept (or know how to deal with) hardships which pop up every so often.

See Here
Are they saying thats the reason why she was told to give up custody?

"In the meantime, Ms. Reich, who is a successful model and actress, was found not be observing the religious modesty laws prevalent in her Lakewood, NJ community. She was accused of "wearing pants in public and failure to don a wig". The court-appointed evaluator hence ruled that she must surrender custody completely, which prompted Ms. Reich's suit in NJ family court to have the evaluator's pronouncement overturned."

Would “Jew in the City” be considered liberal, conservative or mainstream in the Jewish community?

Seems like fairly mainstream orthodox thoughts to me.

I take it you spent the last hour watching/reading everything on her site? Lol!

I agree with the above. Keep in mind that the word 'mainstream' is very subjective.

She is a drop to the left of Ultra Orthodoxy, but not quite Modern Orthodox.

Ok, call her mainstream!

She doesn't give a good explanation on birth control (once you already have one boy and one girl)

lol I just spent around half an hour browsing through the site, it is amazing!
And to quote her
Quote
Let me preface this answer by saying that because I'm not personally ultra-Orthodox or married to an ultra-Orthodox man (if I had to categorize myself, I'd call myself Centrist Orthodox)
