Considering that that itself is against halacha I found it odd that she would say that was required...

Contrary to halacha to keep your nightgown on?

It's definitely preferable not to, see Mishnah Berurah 240:36 and Even Haezer 76:13.

She did a great job of explaining.

+100 -- she is obviously very bright and articulate - while perhaps not an unplanned discourse, it was definitely unscripted on the show.  She really did a great job explaining...

The expressions on the audience’s faces were telling.
A few questions: Is the Mikva she described accurate? Is going to what she referred to as a “spa” happen every month? How much does this cost?

Take a look at our neighborhood Mikvah...look at the picture gallery...beautiful, spa-like, and heated stone floors as she described...ours is a $25 donation per visit

A married woman goes after having a period.  Obviously how often that happens depends on various factors...
In CLE the cost is an $18 donation made to the synagogue that runs the local mikva.

If I were in NY I would like to go her book reading and ask her some questions... I do feel bad for her, and have no problem with her venting her anger about truthful wrongs. It's the non-truths and half-truths that bother me.

+1

Though I do think they may very well have been "truths" for her.  Different families do different things even within a specific chassidut.

I hear ya, hence the half-truths... You can't (in good faith) portray your experience as if it is that of an entire community w/o doing some research.

looked into it, even though its in mishnah berurah it seems to be a kabalistic issue, not halacha

Should we also credit her for not claiming we have horns?

There's a difference between passively omitting a statement and affirming that a certain concept is not true.
She definitely shot herself in the foot by saying those words which are one point in favor of the Satmar's.

It's not a tennis match! She's the abused, previously brainwashed, brave mother who broke free from the cult. She won before she penned the first line. There was no reason whatsoever to not be completely straightforward and honest in every manner.
