I was on an AA flight from Miami to NY when this tragedy happened....

Next to me there was a flight attended who was crying that her very close friend was on that flight as a flight attendant and that she spoke with her just a few hours ago..

So far, 27 bodies recovered from plane, one from helicopter. Officials don't believe there are any survivors, and are transitioning from rescue to recovery.

Do have to put this in context. There is a fatal motor vehicle collision in the U.S. every 12 minutes. This means more people have died in vehicle collisions since the time this plane crash took place than in this plane crash itself. The very rarity of it makes it feel more tragic.

Absolutely I don’t think any logical person looks at terrorist fatalities in Israel as a statistical safety issue.

You mean all the people who ask me "isn't it dangerous?" about the yishuv we bought in, while standing in JLM?
My answer being, in the last decade plus, far more people have been killed or injured by terrorists within 5km from we are standing right now than within 25km of the yishuv...

There are many more vehicles driving than planes flying

It’s a very real reason not to go. It’s an added danger that doesn’t exist elsewhere. When I’m there I feel uneasy every time I pass an Arab, trying to watch out of the corner of my eye if he will suddenly pull a knife.
