So that people who are not worth their salt should get to keep their job and health benefits?
I will let my hard working son know what you said about him.  >:( >:( >:(

If hes hard working he shouldn't need a union.

How often have you worked for a large corporation?

It is not always so easy for the far removed management to be able to tell who of the many employees is more hard working thatnthe other or be in touch enough to properly give thenm credit.

In some instances that may be right. But Amazon has it down to a science. And I'm sure many other companies do too nowadays.

If a company is blindly axing workers it's usually when they are doing serious cuts (during a merger or such) and the union is helpless then. One of the things that many unions force is that the company must hold on to useless workers that they would fire one at a time based on performance, unless the person did something clearly very wrong. And then even then some still stay on board (research the teachers union for example).

The biggest benefit of unions is working conditions. Just take a look at how the football players unions have negotiated with the NFL.

You are clueless. I knew a great worker but he was fired for banging the bosses daughter.

Stop as you are sounding so foolish. Amazon is becoming the PO and just doesn't know it yet.

I would put wages as #1. That is where many unions earn their keep at the national level. Locals are thieves!

The anti-union argument seems to be much stronger regarding wages though.

Speaking of unions, the UAW ruined the US auto industry. Workers hired before 2007 get paid at least $28 an hour plus benefits regardless of their skill level. The American car companies couldn’t stay comptetitive because it was costing them around $1500 (IIRC) more per car than their foreign counterparts. So many people stopped buying American cars.
