You don't need to know about every family's history when a teenager shows signs of needing help.
What you need to know is teenager injuring themselves is usually a coping mechanism to feel better and not that they are trying to kill themselves.
Some of the main causes are emotional pain, isolation, rejection, despair and a ton of other reasons.
This is only magnified for LGBTQ teenagers.

Why you and others are trying to turn this into a political issue is really gutter trash. Nowhere did I even mention politics.

When you spent many years in the past working with troubled teens it does get personal. Especially when someone makes the asinine statement that I made it about politics. Then just like always they come out of the woodwork to join the herd.

It would make no difference if the parent was a politician, celebrity, sports figure, soccer mom or 1000 other individuals.

It was part of our Church's outreach program.
Something you can give me kudos for is starting a soccer program for a local school that was for children with disabilities. Seeing the smiles of these kids' faces and the gratitude from the parents paid me back 1000 times for every hour I put in.
Did I mention I volunteered at the local YMCA for three years? 
Part of it was also dealing with troubled teenagers.
