http://www.forbes.com/sites/samanthasharf/2014/07/30/the-recession-generation-how-millennials-are-changing-money-management-forever/

I wonder how many DDFers fit into the "Millennials" category and how many are invested, or would take advantage of any of these services. I know there is a threat about stocks, but from what I've read of it, its mainly about specific stocks, and not investing as a whole.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I use more than one of the services from that article (though mainly for monitoring my existing investments, plus some free robo advice). The approach of just about all of them is the antithesis of the DDF stock thread. They mostly subscribe to an investment philosophy of index investing - passive management, low fees, diversification, etc.

I think the issue is that he's taking his own feelings, and deciding that tit makes for a clear black-and-white, right-and-wrong line for everyone.

For example, although he doesn't come out and say it, he implies that throaway tickets are hacking, and wrong. Although truth be told, I suspect the reason he didn't come out and say that clearly is that "his gut tells him" that most of his readers would flat-out call him an idiot for that position.

interesting study that shows that couples who had a big wedding have happier marriages.
( ..they call 150+ a big wedding, so most frum weddings would be called big. Good to see the upside of that.)

NYT chief reporter in gaza had yasser arafat as his FB profile picture.
Is that the most interesting thing about the article?

Why is he an idiot? Because in his view most of the things we do is wrong/unethical?
