I'm so glad this is starting to slowly get more and more attention. 

At this point I'm compelled to start raising the chickens myself in the backyard.
Hopefully the more this issue comes to light the more people will demand chickens treated properly and the price can come down.

I still don't get how these big hechsherim can give a hechsher to companies that clearly treat their animals poorly.

I love chickens too. I was in some kibbutz  as a small child and I watched a cute yellow chick fall on the wrong conveyer belt and into the dumpster... I cried and couldn't sleep for days
