I have not yet read all the back and forth (I plan to) but it's obvious to me that lighting, camera, and screen can all change the appearance in a way that should negate this as a possibility with current technology.  Even if it was possible to transfer the exact color, there might be halachik barriers.

I can tell you with confidence from my experience in paskening these questions that the app, while good intentioned, is chotei umachti. There is no way around it.

It seems based on their answers here that the app will only address the type of shaylos that aren't really shaylos in the first place. If someone goes to a Rov with that kind of question several times, eventually the Rov will (or should) explain that to them

It is not uncommon for there to be something on which the shailo would not be visible on a screen. If we are dealing with someone who does not know enough on their own to filter whether or not it is a shailo then how will the rov know if it is such a case in addition to many other pitfalls.

Better off? Possibly.
But forced adoption is not what's on the table here.
I don't think that gays should be allowed to adopt foster children but I also don't think that a gay individual who used to be in a healthy relationship and has full custody should have his kids forced away although I do still think its unhealthy.

I am on your side on this. My point is that all the app will do (giving them the benefit of the doubt) is prevent people from learning to filter their shaylos.
