Nice edit.  :)
I realized I wasn't clear. I had referring to standard people on each category. Non healthy parents fit into "all other non optimal scenarios"

If you can't get it, sorry for you, but I explained already.
A kid needs a mother and father figure. They are incapable of providing that. That is besides the other mental issues that gays commonly have. When going for adoption we shouldn't place kids in suboptimal environments.
just curious if you believe this is Torah haskafa or personal opinion

I think that it's pretty in line with Torah Hashkafa.

1)"A kid needs a mother and a father figure."

I wouldn't have presented it as needs, but it's clear that the Torah considers it the most ideal scenario.

2)" That is besides the other mental issues that gays commonly have."

The Torah perspective is that homosexual attraction is a mental issue. Someone who is not dealing with a serious mental issue in a way that complies with halacha cannot be considered an ideal adoption candidate from a Torah perspective.

3)"When going for adoption we shouldn't place kids in suboptimal environments."

Exceedingly self evident.

What does the law actually say?  It's pretty typical of the media to assume that every law ever passed that has any bearing on government and religion is about abortion or LGBT.

sounds to me like a person has a taaivah and chose to act on it, the feelings that would accompany that action for a frum person would require mental help to process that. I do not think it is saying that the taaivah itself is a mental health issue

We may have differing definitions of mental health issue.

The therapy consists of reinforcing the natural gender-identity of the individual by helping him or her understand and repair the emotional wounds that led to its disorientation and weakening, thus enabling the resumption and completion of the individual’s emotional development.

1) yes but again we are talking about a situation where the child  is already in a very suboptimal (if any) family situation and if im not mistaken there are more kids that need adoption then adopters. so are you sure the Torah hashkafa is they are better off staying in a worse situation
2) when you say mental issue, the implication is it's a sever problem effecting others particularly children. I don't see how saying homosexual attraction can be rectified by therapy in many cases means what you and others are implying.
additionally I don't believe this conversation was referring to specifically Jewish people but whay the Torah hashkafa would be on how to deal with thus issue in general.
3)see 1

1)I don't know if that is true, it may be, in which case obviously pros and cons must be carefully compared.

2)You've used implying twice in reference to what I've said.  I am not sure what you think I am implying and how I am implying it. Please clarify.

3)See 1 :)

What was the hava amina and what was the maskono?
Seems like it was only inteded for shas hadchak, but the question is if people will use it for more than that.
