What are the similarities?
The first is a scary example of twisted far-left gender ideology becoming law in a western democracy with real consequences. From there to the government taking away children from parents who "perpetuate gender stereotypes" is not far.
The second is, I think, a perfectly rational critique of over-standardization of education in the spirit of חנוך לנער על פי דרכו.
You are being far too literal.
Both are the failure to recognize that there are clear differences in nature that are actually strengths when respected for what they are, and espousing absolute equality in terms of having a goal of assigning identical roles to different biological beings is absurd.
