wouldn't there be halachic issues involved? AFAIK certain chemicals in the water would make the dough Chometz quicker.

Except that now the question is why they call it football if the fast majority of the game does not involve kicking the ball (the same can probably be asked for rugby, which is usually called by some name involving football).
