It never ceases to amaze me how determined Trump is to at least try to do everything on his bucket list. How many times on the campaign trail did he mention ivf? For sure once, more than 5 times? Maybe I’m not remembering, but don’t think more than that. And who knows what this eo even does, but the effort he’s putting in is really amazing. I’d have long forgotten about it or else had plenty of excuses to wait until bigger things smooth out

Yeah, despite making great strides towards solving 2 issues that were created by the last admin, he definitely needs to be held accountable and criticized for it taking more than a week.

At the risk of being repetitive, worthwhile to quote once again a very insightful statement by a reporter covering Trump, along the lines of "his supporters take him seriously but not literally, and his detractors take him literally but not seriously". This little back and forth kind of illustrates that once again. Obviously it was complete hyperbole to think he could end the war in Ukraine or completely reverse inflation on day 1, but those supporting him see and appreciate his efforts and determination to get things done at a level as well as tangible accomplishments perhaps never seen before in a presidential administration (especially in only the first 3 weeks!), and his opponents can only focus on, hey he said it was going to be on day 1, Orange man liar!

Back in 2016 I genuinely believed the man was stupid. He does such crazy stuff and says such crazy stuff he just had to be the spontaneous idiot he portrayed himself as. "He speaks his mind, he has no filter" is a refrain you hear from his fans and detractors alike. It took a long time to realize just how smart and calculated he is. I'm still not a fan. I still fall for it a lot, as do many of his fans. But it's a lot easier to understand the crazy stuff if you stop and think that maybe the guy who won the most powerful office in the land twice isn't the dolt he usually makes himself out to be.

Does he really think Canada will become the 49th state (after getting rid of California and another state just for fun)? Totes, bro.

I don’t follow every word that he says, but I heard him discuss it at length on Lex podcast and through 8 minutes of discussion and rambling, he makes no mention of a getting it done in a week. The most he says is that it will be a very tough deal to get done.

And as mentioned by @iwlw2, you are too bright to take him literally. Even if arguendo, we need to take him literally, it’s still quite hypocritical to criticize his progress while fully tolerating the one that allowed the war to begin, and did absolutely nothing in 3 years to end it.
